(overall: The Bengals select WR Tee Higgins, Clemson

Higgins did not the have the best pre-draft process but he still possesses a lot of talent. There are some injury concerns but few are better down the field when healthy. Cincinnati now has A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd and Higgins along with Joe Mixon in the backfield to pair with rookie Quarterback Joe Burrow.

Bengals should consider taking WR Laviska Shenault out of Colorado. Really productive player who is coming off an injury, which is part of the reason why he was a first rounder.

)

I’m excited to see where there top picks go in the second round. Also, when are we getting the run of QBs again? Will Jalen Hurts go in Round 2? Jacob Eason?

Personally, I’m running to the podium to select Minnesota’s Antoine Winfield. That kid, in addition to his NFL bloodline, is the safety you should covet.

Seven teams that did not pick last night – the Patriots, Steelers, Bills, Rams, Colts, Bears and Texans – are scheduled to make their first selections tonight.

Antoine Winfield Jr. should be taken pretty early in the second round. Had a very solid combine and is a favorite among scouts. I think the safety position overall will be a big story in the second round.

Another team to keep an eye on:

And there’s already some rumblings about some possible early Day 2 trades.

Less than a half an hour until the start of the second round. I’m just as excited for tonight’s action. There are going to be some really good players that come out of today. It’s a deep, deep class.

I think they were floating some names to drum up some trade interest. Denzel Mims and Ross Blacklock did not make the most sense for them.

Huge opportunity here if you want to kick off the second round. Still a ton of talent available.

This makes sense to me unless somebody they are intrigued by falls to that spot. Could always happen.

Panthers are reportedly looking for some receiver help.

There’s plenty of talent that will come off the board tonight.

Last night’s first round shattered viewing records. (NFL Draft pulls in record TV ratings for Round 1: Here are the five cities with the highest viewership

I concocted a list of my best prospects available after Round 1. There are several others I would be fine with , but these immediately came to mind. NFL Draft: Best players available on Day 2 include Tee Higgins, D’Andre Swift and a pair of SEC safeties      Seven teams were without a first round pick Thursday night. Here is what the Steelers, Texans, Bills, Bears, Colts, Patriots and Rams might do on Day 2.

Some speculation on what might occur early tonight. The Bengals are actually strong at defensive tackle and wide receiver so their targets would surprise me.

The Eagles drafted a WR in Round 1, but they are far from finished at that position. Don’t be surprised if they draft a WR again in Round 2 and “double dip,” knowing they need significant help at the position. It’s not uncommon for the Eagles to address the pass rush or add a much-needed LB, but there are plenty of defensive players that fell down the board and within their grasp. I could see the Eagles trading up from No. to get one of these players, especially with three fourth-round picks.

The Eagles do value their packs and can afford to wait for that wide receiver if that’s the direction they go.

K.J. Hamler would be ideal, especially since Philly can put him in the slot. I think Michael Pittman would be a nice “X” wide receiver to compliment Reagor.

If you haven’t checked out Chris Trapasso’s Day 2 mock draft, you should : (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/ – day-2-nfl-mock-draft -giants-trade-up-to-start-round-2-buccaneers-land-dandre-swift-patriots-go-qb /)

I’m very curious to see where D’Andre Swift goes and if there will be a bit of a run on RBs in the second round. Trapasso currently has the Buccaneers taking Swift at No. 56 overall (great fit), and Jonathan Taylor going to the Dolphins at No. 230 overall. Tua and Taylor in a backfield together could be dynamic.

The next order of business for the Cowboys will be defense, considering it was their top priority before they won the lottery with CeeDee Lamb falling to No. 30. The expectation is they’ll look to address the cornerback position, EDGE or safety in the second and third round, and there’s a list of premium talent still available for them to choose from – meaning the Lamb pick didn’t set their board back much at all (if at all). There are still one or two players available they had a first-round grade on, and my assumption is those players are Xavier McKinney and Trevon Diggs.

They’ll be open to moving up a few spots if their guy gets close to them, but it’s more likely they sit tight, knowing it’d be hard for them to lose if they did. If they feel they won’t need to give up anything to land a dynamic player, they’ll try to feed off of their first-round luck on Day 2.

That’s an awful lot of money for Laremy Tunsil, who is now the highest paid tackle in football. Lane Johnson was No. 1 at $ 30 million a year.

Jalen Reagor will be unfairly compared to CeeDee Lamb, but he’s only focused on his game. The Eagles WR is really mature for just turning .

Again, I can see why he killed the pre-draft interview

(https: //www.cbssports.com/nfl / …)

Not surprised zero teams called about Yannick Ngakoue. He’s worth a first-round pick based on production, but his actions greatly diminished his trade value.

So what’s next for the Jaguars. GM Dave Campbell had some pretty telling comments>>

And for those of you interested in hearing Lamb’s first extensive reaction to being selected by the Cowboys:

https: //www.cbssports.com/nfl/…

What the Cowboys did by grabbing. CeeDee Lamb was instantly exorcise any demons still existing from Jerry Jones having once passed on Randy Moss to go with a positional need. While Lamb won’t be the No. 1 receiver in Dallas, his addition makes the offense lethal and one of the best in the league – up against teams like the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s a ton of firepower that requires opposing defenses play straight-up, and against skill players who can rack up numbers in one-on-one situations. BPA is again a thing in North Texas, thanks to Mike McCarthy.

He’ll never fall to No. 80, but I would gladly take Ashton Davis on the Eagles. There’s the Malcolm Jenkins replacement.

Who do you all see as the first team to trade UP on Day 2? It happens often at the top.      One of the Most underrated storylines from Day 1 was that no safety came off the board. McKinney is the most complete prospect, but there are a few different players depending on what your roster needs (safety with range, safety who can come down and attack in the box) and I think they will come off the board with a safety run at the start of Day 2’s action.
