MANCHESTER UNITED icon Gary Neville believes Granit Xhaka must apologise to the Arsenal fans as he also stated the Swiss midfielder never learns from his mistakes.

He told Sky Sports: “I struggle with Xhaka full stop, I’ll be honest with you. I just think it’s his ill-discipline in his performances generally over a period of the last two or three years.

“I’ve never watched a player who seems to learn less from his experiences than Xhaka.

“He makes what must be four hundred mistimed tackles a match. He essentially gets booked every time I watch him, I don’t watch him every single game but every game I do watch he gets booked.

“He doesn’t seem to set the tone for the rest of his team-mates with his performance levels. So, what happened on Sunday doesn’t surprise me. ”

Neville added: He does give his all, he’s committed. There’s no doubt about that. You can see someone there. But he’s the least experienced experienced player I’ve ever watched. He’s rash.

“I’ve got no problem with this idea of taking on your fans or a bit of tension. It’s never great, it’s not healthy. But actually, in football, that can happen. ”

EXCLUSIVE by Joshua Jones: MANCHESTER UNITED sent scouts to watch Brescia’s teenage midfielder Sandro Tonali again last week.

The Italian – dubbed the new Andrea Pirlo in his homeland for both his playing and hair styles – is catching the eye of a number of top-class European sides with his performances from midfield.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has received glowing reports and their Italian spies watched him play the full 90 minutes in last Monday’s goalless draw with Fiorentina.

The Red Devils are in the market for creative young talent and there is a feeling Tonali could be one worth paying out big bucks for to steal a march on some of their rivals.

An Old Trafford source told SunSport: “We have known about Tonali for 18 months but our Italian scouts say he has gone to the next level and United need to get involved – he could be a generational talent. ”

JAMIE CARRAGHER has taken a massive dig at Gary Neville by claiming “anyone” could have been successful under legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Neville won eight Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues and three FA Cups during almost 20 years under the guidance of Sir Alex at Old Trafford.

Speaking about his Monday Night Football partner to Sky Sport’s Off Script podcast, the Liverpool legend said: “I didn’t like him, but I thought he was a winner.

“Obviously a top player, very lucky to play under Sir Alex Ferguson.

“But all these Manchester United people forget, they never won anything without Sir Alex Ferguson, anything, nothing with England, Valencia.

“Remember, Manchester United fell off a cliff when Sir Alex Ferguson left, how lucky were they to be with him?

“So when we talk about what they won and what they did, anyone could have done it.”

REAL MADRID are plotting another huge signing in January and have their eyes on either Paul Pogba or N’Golo Kante, according to reports.

President Florentino Perez is prepared to open his check book after Zinedine Zidane missed out on signing a midfielder in the summer.

The under pressure Frenchman was hopeful of landing Manchester United’s Pogba before the beginning of the season but the Red Devils wanted £ 180 million for his signature.

Zidane’s summer additions, including the likes of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic, topped £ 270 m.

And reports in Spain claim it won’t deter another big expenditure as they see a top central midfielder as the final piece of the jigsaw.
