An enormous chunk of a roof was torn off of a block of flats housing people on a high street by storm brendan after high winds shook the UK.
Shocking footage shows the roof of a building in ruins on the high street in Slough after it was blown off this evening. The building is believe to be used for residential and commercial purposes.
A bystander who filmed the incident on his mobile phone posted a clip onTwitter, showing debris and bags being blown around the street.
People can be seen trying to salvage shop signs and awnings that were narrowly missed by the huge structure.
One person who lives in the block of flats told MailOnline they heard the roof groaning shortly before it flew off.
The incident happened just before 6pm.

A taxi driver has described how his car was only meters away from being hit by the falling roof.
Haris Baig, (********************************************************************************, from Slough, said he was driving along the High Street when he saw a large section of roof crash down in front of him.
He said: “At first I thought it was scaffolding, but then I realized the whole roof had come down. There was a massive amount of noise.
“I was about 70 meters away and slammed on my brakes. I got out to see if everyone was alright. That was my first reaction, but at the same time I was thinking is this even safe? “
Mr Baig said he did not see anyone injured, but heard that one person had broken their leg.
“It was a disaster. It was a miracle no one was killed. “

********** South Central Ambulance Service say it’s thought there were no injuries during the incident. A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said three fire engines attended the scene after the roof was removed ‘in the wind’. The fire service are not ‘(**************************************************************************************% sure ‘if anyone is still in the building. He added: “The roof has come off in the wind. The current situation is trying to make the scene safe.” A council spokesman has urged people to avoid the area: “We are aware of the incident in Slough High Street and specialist officers are on route to assist emergency services.” Thames Valley Police wrote on Twitter: “Officers are currently at the scene of an incident in Slough. It is believed that part of a building in the High Street has collapsed as a result of the (weather) ******** (conditions.) “We do not believe that anyone has been seriously injured, and we are working with other emergency services to make the scene safe. “The road is closed and people are advised to avoid the area. Thank you to everyone for their ongoing patience while we deal with the incident.” ************************
