Zooey Deschanel‘s ex-husbandJacob Pechenikis speaking out after news broke ofher new relationshipwithProperty BrothersstarJonathan Scott.

The 47 – year-old film producer seems to be doing well, noting thattheir splitwas amicable.

“Yeah, everything is amicable and we have two beautiful children together. We’ve been raising them and we’re going to continue to raise them, and take great care of get them… I’m happy, ”JacobtoldHollywoodLife.

He added that he will continue to work withZooeyon their company, Lettuce Grow, which aims to change America’s food supply chain and educate consumers about where their food comes from.

“[Zooeyand I] haven’t had so many differences when it comes to the business, we both know what our strengths and weaknesses are and turn to each other for suggestions or advice on the other person’s expertise,”Jacobexplained.

ZooeyandJacobgot engagedback in January of 2015, and got married in June later that year. They have two children together:Elsie, 4, andCharlie, 2.
