It could be too soon to tell, but it looks as though Britain has hit Peak Woke
Actor Laurence Fox rejected claims Harry and Meghan are being driven out of the UK by racism.
But he did more than that. He warned the Left’s obsession is providing a cloak for crime.
The Sussexes ’decision to quit was“ not racism ”, he told a cheering crowd. “We’re the most tolerant, lovely country in Europe.”
Significantly, the applause came not from the far Right but from right-on BBC Question Time – an audience carefully chosen, stressed presenter Fiona Bruce, to reflect Britain by age, sex and politics.
Fox – famous as DS James Hathaway in TV’s Lewis
– was instantly denounced as a “privileged white male ”And therefore with no right to an opinion.
“Oh, God!” He cried. “I can’t’t help what I am, I was born like this. It’s an immutable characteristic, so to call me a white privileged male is to be racist. ”
But it took the furore over Megxit – and Fox’s unanswerable case for the defense – to trigger Britain’s own fightback.
Fox has given a voice to ordinary, decent citizens who are incensed by finger-wagging know-alls smearing them as racists, Nazis and fascists.
These ugly insults were hurled at millions who backed Brexit and the overwhelming majority who voted for Boris Johnson.
Until now we’ve been too polite to fight back, gagged by Thought Police who bark: “You can’t say that.”
So we put up with politically correct sniping from such “identity” obsessives as rapper Stormzy, MP Clive Lewis and
the entire Labor Party, who smell racism under every rock .

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan. sparked uproar when he challenged black and Asian commentators to produce a “shred of evidence” of Press racism. They failed.
Fox’s one-man mission is more than a poke at the PC brigade. It is about free speech – and hypocrisy.
Scattergun charges of racism offer an alibi to serious crime, he says, citing the Pakistani sex gangs who systematically raped and trafficked white victims across Britain – with police blessing.
“It’s one of the dangerous things about throwing racism around,” the actor told Question Time.
“People become so conscious of it that things like the Manchester grooming scandal get ignored.”
He spoke as
police finally confessed to deliberately turning a blind eye to decades -long vile abuse of vulnerable, underage white girls.
A police report confirms a – year reign of sex abuse went unchecked after an unnamed chief inspector ruled: “With it being Asians, we Can’t afford for this to be coming out. ”
BRAVELY CONFRONTING THE RACE ZEALOTS
Fear of the race card also partly explains why police failed to halt the slaughter of mostly black victims by mostly black knife gangs.
The same “cultural cringe” stops prison staff tackling dangerous Islamist gangs who have seized control in Britain’s terror jails.
It’s why forced marriage and honor killings go unchecked.
Now, at last, black and Asian voices are bravely confronting the race zealots.
Leading commentator and ex-Equality Commissioner Trevor Phillips, son of poor immigrants, condemns “feel-good” racism detectorists .
“It might make‘ right-on ’white liberals feel better,” he says. “But the price of their smugness is an ongoing bloody massacre of black children.”
Home Secretary Priti Patel, daughter of Uganda-Indian migrants, has declared war on the race industry.
IT is interesting to see what a Tory landslide can achieve.
The BBC strenuously denies “institutional bias”, despite abundant evidence from within the Beeb itself – including from former Director-General Mark Thompson.
Now Boris Johnson is in power and the bloated corporation’s £ 5BILLION subsidy is at risk.
Perhaps that’s why Question Time is now apparently balanced, Andrew Marr is being polite to Tory guests and on Radio 4’s Today, Nick Robinson has gone almost silent.
