In the first defense of his WBO super middleweight title, Saunders labored against his unfancied opponent, who was fighting outside of his native Argentina for the first time.
But the Briton came to life in the 11 th round with two knockdowns – including one brutal uppercut that floored the brave and resilient Coceres.
The Argentine rose to his feet to continue, only for the referee to step in and end the contest moments later after Saunders continued to land unchallenged shots.
Saunders won his the vacant WBO title with a comfortable points win over Shefat Isufi in May – his last fight with Frank Warren and Queensbury Promotions before linking up with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.
Saunders now has his eye on meetings with the other elite names at super middleweight in Callum Smith, Gennady Golovkin and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
