A body has been found in the search for a missing mum whose fiancé died weeks before their wedding.

Helen O ‘ Brien, 35, was forced to plan her partner Kevin Reilly’s funeral instead of making the final arrangements for their big day .

He suffered a sudden heart attack in their own home in Warrington, Cheshire, last year.

After visiting friends on September 25, mum-of-two Helen disappeared.

Police have this morning confirmed a body has been found in the River Mersey near Seacombe during the search for Helen.

Formal identification is yet to take place but police said it is believed to be the missing mum.

One childhood friend, 39 – year-old Lisa Johnson, previously told Mirror Online: “This is a particularly sad story because her fiancé suddenly collapsed and died in front of her at home two weeks before their wedding day.

The full-time mum, from Warrington, Cheshire, was last seen on Wednesday September 25

“It left her to care for their two young boys. Instead of planning the final touches to her wedding day, she had to plan a funeral.”

She continued: “Helen has lost everyone she has ever become close to. Her dad died, she lost her sister in a car crash in 2000 and then this with Kevin.

“She was absolutely distraught. She really struggled afterwards but was managing because of her two boys.

Lisa told how since Kevin’s death in August last year, Helen’s worried mum Linda has become increasingly concerned.

Tributes were paid to the “wonderful mum” online, with Lisa writing: “So sad that you are gone baby girl but now you’ll get your big bear hug from Kev “.
