Boris Johnsonhas posted a bizarre video selfie onFacebookwhere he talks to the camera about his “very very long week”.

The Prime Minister took the clip while he was taking off from Leeds airport on Friday, ending the six minute video saying: “This is your captain speaking”.

In his trademark bumbling fashion, Mr Johnson gives viewers a rundown of his week, including a “great cabinet”, “a big thing at a school” and visiting the “fantastic place” of Rotherham.

It comes after a turbulent few days for the PM, who was heckled during his Rotherham speech earlier on Friday.

He was also accused of lying to the Queen about proroguing Parliament when the Government was forced to release the Operation Yellowhammer no-dealBrexit (files.

In the first post of its kind, Mr Johnson appears to be experimenting with a new social media strategy as he talks about what he has been up to.

Looking into the camera, the PM says: “Hi Folks. Can you hear me? This is Boris here.

“I’m about to fly back from Leeds airport where I’ve been just today talking to some people at the end of a very very busy week.”

Mr Johnson proceeds to talk about his Dublin trip on Monday, where he discussed a new Brexit deal with Leo Varadkar, calling the Irish Taoiseach, “a very very nice guy”.

“We then had a session in Parliament, quite a rowdy session. You may have noticed. It got on the news,” he goes on.

“All sorts of excitements in Parliament because we need to have a Queen’s Speech,” he said, continuing to talk about prorogation.

“Some MPs thought that that was, you know, anti-democratic even though we offered them an election twice, which they turned down spinelessly.”

Speaking to the camera, he said: “My friends, they have had three years to think about Brexit, these people.”

“What has got into them?”

Mr Johnson even hit out at Jeremy Corbyn saying he thinks it is “totally crazy” that the Labor leader wants to stay in the EU past the October deadline.

When he starts talking about Thursday, the Mr Johnson interrupts his ramble to say: “We’re about to take off, we’re taking off. Fasten your seatbelts.”

He then adds: “The UK is about to take off as a great shipbuilding nation. Did you like my use of metaphor?”

Mr Johnson eventually signs off saying: “It’s been a wonderful week, a very exciting week. Obviously full of action politically.

“Everybody all over Twitter about what we’re doing about coming out of the EU. But believe me we’re going to get it done.”

“Anyway, that’s it from me folks. Over and out. This is your captain speaking. Over and out.”
