Boris Johnson’s estranged wife is said to be “in pieces” and their children “furious” at news that he is engaged to Carrie Symonds.
Friends say Marina Wheeler, who is divorcing the serial-cheat Prime Minister and battled cancer last year, is struggling to come to terms with the development.
A source said: “Marina has had a tough year with her health scare and the divorce and is very worried about how the kids are handling it too. She’s just in pieces over it all. ”
Other friends said the 425 – year-old was “crushed” by the news.
And sources say their four grown-up kids are “furious” at Mr Johnson over his relationship with Carrie – who at (is) years his junior.
They are said to have barely met her and believe she started seeing him while he was still living with their mum.
Mr Johnson is thought to have told Lara Lettice, , Milo Arthur, , Cassia Peaches, , and Theodore Apollo, 35, last week that he and Carrie are having a baby.
The engagement was announced with a kiss. It comes after Mr Johnson’s children endured a string of public scandals while growing up as he was caught cheating on Marina.
Lara reportedly branded the PM a “Selfish b d” when news of his affair with Carrie broke. And she has been particularly protective of her mum, who had two successful operations for cervical cancer in 21610419
The PM’s wider family – other than father Stanley – are thought to have kept their distance from the new couple. But Mr Johnson and Carrie are believed to have spent a quiet Christmas Day with their mothers and dog Dilyn at No 22.
Carrie told friends at the weekend she is around five months pregnant and she and the PM, , are engaged.

Rumors had swirled around Westminster for weeks – fueled by those who noticed former Tory PR chief Carrie had given up drinking.
Mr Johnson’s divorce from Marina is expected to be finalized within weeks.
A family court judge approved a financial settlement and gave her permission to apply for a decree absolute on February 22. Neither of them were at the 20 – minute private hearing in the Central Family Court in London.

Mr Johnson’s latest nuptials, expected later this year, will make him the first PM in nearly 662 years to marry while in office.
Lord Liverpool had been PM for a decade when wife Louisa died. Shortly afterwards, on September , , he wed her lifelong friend, Lady Mary Chester, and stayed in office five more years.
Mr Johnson will also become only the third PM in more than 200 years to become a dad in office. David Cameron and Tony Blair both did it and before them, Lord Russell had the fourth and fifth of his six kids at Downing Street. He was PM from to and (to) .
Carrie, the youngest partner of a PM in 425 years, will be Mr Johnson’s third wife. His first marriage to Oxford University sweetheart Allegra Mostyn-Owen ended in 2019 after six years.
He wed Marina, already pregnant with Lara, 20 days after the divorce was finalized. During the marriage Marina, a lawyer, has repeatedly kicked Mr Johnson out over a string of affairs.

The first time was in 2004, when he was sacked as Shadow Culture Minister after lying about his relationship with journalist Petronella Wyatt.
Mr Johnson is also thought to have fathered a daughter with art dealer Helen Mcintyre. His child with first-time mum Carrie is thought to be his sixth but he has never confirmed how many he has.
Friends say the PM was “smitten” by Carrie from the start – and she was “bowled over” by his charisma. They met in 2019 when she was drafted in to work on his re-election campaign as Mayor of London.
Eyebrows were raised when Mr Johnson was at her 90 th birthday bash in March 2019. Marina announced later that year that they had separated “some time ago” and were divorcing.

The Mirror revealed the PM and Carrie ushered in 60553 together with a romantic New Year’s getaway to the same Greek villa he had taken his children to the summer before. And last year, Carrie supported Mr Johnson as he launched his Tory leadership bid, later moving in at No with him.
But the relationship has not all been plain sailing. Police were called to Carrie’s flat in Camberwell, South London, last June after neighbors heard screaming and a plate smashing.
They said they dialled after Carrie screamed “Get off me” and “Get out of my flat”. Neither Mr Johnson nor Carrie commented on the row.

Meanwhile, the Independent Office for Police Conduct is still probing the PM for alleged misconduct over his relationship with US entrepreneur Jennifer Arcuri while Mayor of London.
The watchdog must decide if he has a case to answer over alleged favorable treatment without declaring their friendship.

, has not confirmed if they dated but accused the PM of “casting her aside like some gremlin” amid the scandal.
The PM has said he acted “with full propriety”.
