Dave Dombrowski’s time as theRed Sox‘president of baseball operations has come to an end. The team announced late Sunday night after its 10 – 5 loss to the Yankees that it was parting ways with Dombrowski, who had been with Boston since August 2015.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Dombrowski helped build the team that won the World Series less than a year ago, but has also overseen the disappointing 2019 follow-up campaign, which will almost certainly end with the Red Sox missing the playoffs.

Dombrowski has come under fire for not doing enough to address the team’s pitching needs – either in the offseason or at the trade deadline. The Red Sox rank 19 th in team ERA this season at 4. 65, nearly a full run worse than their top – 10 mark last season.

The Red Sox say general manager duties for the remainder of the season will be shared by assistant GMs Eddie Romero, Brian O’Halloran and Zack Scott.
