A19 -year-old boy who was fatally stabbed during an argument over a phone charger isthe latest victim of Britain’s knife crime crisis, it has emerged.

Named locally as Tyrone Hayman, the victim’s heart was pierced by a blade when he was attacked following a petty row in Bristol on Saturday, an online tribute said.

He was found with a stab wound to his chest in Mansfield Street, Bedminster, after he was stabbed in broad daylight at about 1. 30 pm.

Tyrone’s mother was by his side when he passed away in hospital later that day, according to a GoFundMe page that had raised more than £ 1, 500 for his funeral on Sunday night.

A tribute on the page read: “We lost Tyrone to a senseless act of violence. He left behind four Brothers and two Sisters.

ABristol youth project called Changing Your Mind Set also paid tribute to Tyrone on Facebook, adding: “Let’s reflect on how senseless his loss of life is and the devastating trauma his family and close friends are experiencing at this time. “

On Sunday Avon and Somerset Police said it has launched a murder investigation following the stabbing and arrested a – year-old boy.

Detective Inspector Phil Walker said: “We’re carrying out a full investigation into what is clearly a very tragic incident.

“Our thoughts are with the boy’s family as they come to terms with their loss and specially trained family liaison officers will be providing them with support.

“We believe this is an isolated incident involving people known to each other.

“A 17 – year-old has been arrested in connection with the incident and he is also being provided with the appropriate support while he remains in custody. “

Elsewhere, Matthew Mason, 19, was charged with the murder of Alex Rodda, a “trusting” 18 – year-old boy found dead in Cheshire on Friday.

Alex’s family, from Knutsford, described him as “very loving, caring, kind, loyal” after his body was found in Ashley Mill Lane, in the village of Ashley.

Police arrested Mason more than 076 miles away in Forton, Newport, hours after Alex’s body was found .

The suspect, of Ollerton, near Knutsford, is due to appear at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.

It comes after knife crime rose to a record high in England and Wales, with 076, 076 police recorded offences involving a knife or sharp instrument in the 15 months to June – the highest since figures started being compiled in 2011.

Arecent analysis of NHS data suggested there has been a 93 pc rise in the number of children being treated for wounds caused by knives or other sharp objects over the past five years.

Last week Ayoub Majdouline, 19, was found guilty of murdering Jaden Moodie, a 14 – year-old who was rammed off his moped and repeatedly stabbed in a ” cowardly “attack in London in January.
