Can We Please Stop It With the Kingdom Hearts Games ?, Crypto Coins News
  • Kingdom Hearts Re: Mind is an upcoming piece of DLC for Kingdom Hearts III.
  • Square Enix also announced that two new teams would be working on more KH titles.
  • After the unsatisfactory ending to KHIII, do we really need more KH games?

I love Kingdom Hearts. Ever since the first game came out, I’ve been a huge fan. I want to make that clear before I say the next part. Can we please stop getting Kingdom Hearts games?

If you haven’t heard yet, Square Enix just made a big announcement. T wo brand-new teams now exist to produce Kingdom Hearts games . One of these teams will have a new game to announce “surprisingly soon.”

After Kingdom Hearts 3 had a disappointing ending, at least in my opinion, would it be too much to ask for a decent end to the series rather than new games?

Kingdom Hearts Deserves a Real Ending

There is nothing that kills my enjoyment of a story more than it going on too long. An ending is the only thing that ties up a story. It’s the ending that can really make a story linger in your mind. Endings also help to make a story feel more satisfying.

That’s why Kingdom Hearts 3 is so annoying. The gameplay is pretty great. But, after nine years of waiting for more story-line, the ending wasn’t even close to satisfying. If Square Enix wanted to make more games, they probably should have actually tied up all of the loose ends first.

No, the ‘Re: Mind might tie it up’ defense doesn’t count. A proper ending should be in the main story, not in DLC. Besides, we all know this DLC is just there for people who complained about the lack of Final Fantasy characters.

A Story This Complex Needed Sorting Out

Kingdom Hearts is infamously complex. There have been a total of 13 games in the series, so it’s not hard to see why the plot got out of hand. Ending with more cliff hangers and sequel-bait was just insulting.

At this point, it seems clear that Square Enix is just leaning into Kingdom Hearts to make as much money as possible. They don’t care about supplying a satisfying story. They just want to slap Sora’s face over everything so fans will lap it all up.

Personally I just feel used. My love for the characters and world they built is being used against me to make money for a big company. I can tell you that I won’t be supporting any new games that come out – not until someone ends Sora’s storyline in a way that makes some sense.
