One of the most discussed NFL deals of the week has been the trade of receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans to the Arizona Cardinals for running back David Johnson, with draft picks involved.
A report Wednesday night from houstonchronicle.com’s Aaron Wilson indicates that the Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots also were among teams that discussed Hopkins with the Texans before he was dealt.
Hopkins Tweeted Wednesday that what NFL Network’s Michael Irvin said on ESPN’s Get Up! about Hopkins’ relationship with Texans head coach Bill O’Brien was “being blown way out of proportion.”
Many believe the Bengals are looking to trade long-time starting quarterback Andy Dalton. Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin told the RapSheet Friends podcast that the team wants to make sure Dalton is comfortable with any decision .
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last month that a Dalton trade would net the Bengals a mid-round draft pick
