If you’re wondering what’s in store for Week 9 of the college football season, consider this: The last Saturday in October has a high-profile game between top 25 teams in each of the three main time slots. The day kicks off at noon ET with one of the most anticipated Big Ten games of the season when No. 13 Wisconsin travels to No. 3 Ohio State – perhaps a preview of the Big Ten Championship Game. That’s followed by a key SEC West matchup between No. 9 Auburn and No. 2 LSU in the SEC on CBS Game of the Week. Can anyone slow down quarterback Joe Burrow and this explosive LSU offense? The night cap is No. 8 Notre Dame at No. 19 Michigan, a rivalry game with both teams looking for a statement.

There’s a lot to cover on Saturday. CBS Sports will be here every step of the way to update you with the latest scores, highlights and storylines throughout the day.All times Eastern

Zack Charbonnet punches it in from seven yards out and is averaging 8.4 yards-per-carry. No. 19 Michigan leads No. 8 Notre Dame 10 – 0 early in the second quarter.

No. 4 Clemson currently leads Boston College 17 – 0. Trevor Lawrence has thrown a touchdown and completed all six of his passes. Star running back Travis Etienne also has a rushing touchdown in the opening quarter.

This is ugly: No. 1 Alabama leads Arkansas 31 – 0.

(oh) And oh, by the way, Alabama starting QB Tua Tagovailoa is NOT playing.

Weather playing a huge factor here in Ann Arbor. Shea Patterson fumbled the wet ball at the goal line, which ultimately teed Notre Dame up to stop UM on 3rd down. Michigan comes away with a FG: 3-0 Wolverines.

Michigan-Notre Dame has been a punt-fest so far. And probably will be the rest of the night. Rainy conditions don’t look like they’re going to be conducive to big points.

No Tua, no problem for Alabama. The top-ranked Tide have jumped out on Arkansas early with a 17 – 0 lead in the first quarter.

Pretty impressive.

No. 2 LSU holds off No. 2 9 Auburn, 23 – 20, to improve to 8-0 on the season. Up next in two weeks for the Tigers: a showdown with the top-ranked Tide in Tuscaloosa.

This is basically the end of every North Carolina game this season.

Been a really tough fourth quarter for LSU’s defense. Star safety Grant Delpit went down after what appeared to be a turned ankle, and just now, superstar freshman corner Derek Stingley went down after an end zone collision. Both walked off on their own power.

Charlotte comes from behind to beat North Texas 39 – 38 and this spectacular touchdown was the difference

No. 6 Penn State stays undefeated with a dominant 28 – 7 win over Michigan State. The Nittany Lions were led by four touchdown passes from Sean Clifford and three of those were to tight end Pat Freiermuth. Penn State prepare for a battle with No. 17 Minnesota in two weeks.

No. (Texas loses to TCU) – 27. The Horned Frogs offense gashed the Longhorns secondary to the tune of10 .1yards- per-pass and 434 yards of total offense. TCU quarterback Max Duggan threw for 273 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Meanwhile, Texas’ Sam Ehlinger struggled as he tossed four interceptions.

NAVY. 6-1.

Quite a swing of events in Ames. Oklahoma State gets stuffed on a fourth-and-1, Iowa State takes over in plus territory, and Iowa State QB Brock Purdy tosses a pick two plays later. OSU salts it away to take a 34 – 27 win over the 23 rd-ranked Cyclones.

TCU holds a 30 – 27 lead over No. 15 Texas as we get to about 6 minutes left in the game. Weird line to open – TCU was a slight favorite. But Texas is banged up and quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been off with three interceptions today. Oklahoma might not be the only Big 12 upset today.

We say that a catch might be the best catch of the year a lot around here. But, folks, this might actually be the catch of the year. The physics of this are insane.

Ladies and gentlemen, Michigan State has scored points in a football game. It now trails Penn State 28 – 7 in the 3rd quarter.

a Michigan State muff sets up Penn State deep in Sparty’s territory and they score a TD on the next play. Ballgame. Nittany Lions up 28 – 0

Michigan State trails Penn State 21 – 0 at halftime. Michigan State has not scored since Oct. 5. Michigan State is on a bye next week. That means, if Penn State holds onto this shutout, Michigan State will go at least a full month without scoring.

Well this was certainly … something.

LSU knots it up at 10 against Auburn with a field goal. Could have gone for it on fourth-and-1 from inside the 5, but opted to take the points.

Statement from the ref on the team officiating the OU-Kansas State game. They overturned a late onside kick that would have given Oklahoma the ball and instead determined an OU player illegally touched the ball first.

What a one-handed touchdown catch by Arizona’s Jamarye Joyner

No. 6 Penn State continues to pour it on against Michigan State. Quarterback Sean Clifford finds KJ Hamler for a 27 – yard touchdown and the Nittany Lions lead 21 -0. Clifford has three touchdown passes in the first half.

Defensive tussle ongoing in Fort Worth between TCU and No. 15 Texas. It’s knotted at 10 midway through the second quarter. Longhorns QB Sam Ehlinger and Horned Frogs QB Max Duggan both have one touchdown pass and one interception each. Overall it’s been pretty tough sledding for both teams offensively.
