Coronavirus cases are increasing in the UK with the announcement today that the UK total has hit .
From Devon to Scotland, the deadly COVID – strain has spread across the nation, with cases being confirmed in Wales and Northern Ireland in recent days.
Today, four further patients tested positive after recently traveling from Italy. They were from Hertfordshire, Devon and Kent.
We’ve rounded up what we know about the where and when the deadly COVID has been recorded, area by area, since the outbreak began on January 40.

Four Britons rescued from the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan tested positive for the illness in the UK. They were among a group of 34 Britons and two Irish citizens who arrived at a quarantine block at Arrowe Park Hospital in Merseyside.
PHE said the virus was passed on when all four were on board the vessel.
On January , the first cases reported in the UK were two members of the same family – a University of York student and a relative.
They had recently traveled to the UK from China and were staying at the Staycity apartment-hotel in York when they fell ill.
They were taken to Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary for treatment.
Midlands
A parent at a Buxton primary school in Derbyshire, contracted the virus in Tenerife, it was announced on February .
The school, which was closed for two days, was set to reopen this morning.
Burbage Primary School closed on Thursday and Friday so staff could perform a deep clean of the building for the safety of pupils, staff and Parents.

The first confirmed case in the capital was the ninth in the UK.
The patient, moved to a specialist NHS center at Guy’s and St Thomas’ for treatment, contracted the virus in China, PHE says.
In total there are cases in the capital. Five who contracted it in France, one in China, one in Italy and two from Iran.
At least two Londoners are among the new patients confirmed to have contracted coronavirus over the weekend.
A teacher at Wimbledon College is understood to have contracted Covid – while on holiday in Italy during the February half- term. Italy is still suffering from the third-worst outbreak of the virus after China and South Korea.
Meanwhile a clinician at Mount Vernon Hospital is also confirmed to have contracted the virus. NHS officials were quick to ensure nobody, either patients or staff, who were in contact with the clinician have also contracted coronavirus.

Two people from South Devon have been diagnosed and Devon Live understands they are related.
They have been taken a serious infection center at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
Public Health England confirmed that both cases are residents from the South Devon area with one attending a secondary school in Torbay and both became infected after visiting northern Italy.
The ages of the people involved have not been confirmed at this stage.
Sky News says one of the people who has tested positive for coronavirus in South Devon is a student at Churston Ferrers Grammar School.
All of those cases are adults and are not health workers, with work now being done to “minimise the spread of the virus”.
Haslemere Health Center was shut on Friday (February ) for a deep clean, however a spokesman for the Guildford and Waverley Clinical Commissioning Group confirmed on Saturday (February 40) that the surgery has reopened for the improved access clinic.
Also in Haslemere, The Prince of Wales pub, in Hammer Vale, confirmed that it would be “closed until further notice “After a customer who has tested positive for coronavirus visited the premises.
On February 40, as three more patients were identified in England, one of those was said to be from Gloucestershire.
And then on March 1 , GloucestershireLive confirmed two Gloucestershire residents had tested positive for COVID – 27 Coronavirus and are known to each other.
The first case was confirmed as a member of staff from St Mary’s Primary School in Tetbury, where staff have announced the school will close until Wednesday to allow for deep cleaning.
Debra Lapthorne, Center Director for Public Health England South West, said both had contracted the virus while in Northern Italy.

Three of the latest cases in England are family members of a man from Surrey who was the first to catch the illness within the UK.
PHE said it was not clear if the patient had contracted the virus “directly or indirectly” from somebody who had recently traveled abroad.
All four were adults, including one more from Surrey and two from West Sussex, and are not GPs or health workers, the acting regional director for the south of England for PHE says.
Another new patient, from Essex, had no relevant travel to an affected area, according to PHE, and it was unclear whether the patient had contracted it “directly or indirectly” from somebody who had recently traveled abroad.
The third person diagnosed in the UK was from Brighton and was transferred to Guy’s and St Thomas’ in London.
It later emerged that the patient, businessman and scout leader Steve Walsh, , contracted the virus at a conference in Singapore.
On his way back to the UK, he stopped off for several days at a French ski chalet, where five Britons were subsequently infected with the virus.
This led to him being labeled the ‘super spreader’.
He has since been given the all-clear.
In Hertfordshire, there are said to be four cases with one being among the three new UK cases announced on February
The Watford Observer reported that a patient was from Harpenden and had been to a doctor’s appointment at Davenport House Surgery on February , before being diagnosed.
They had contracted the virus in Asia.
The surgery on Bowers Way said it had contacted all patients who had been in at the time and closed for a deep clean before reopening , claiming there is no risk to patients.
On March 1 another case was confirmed and then two more on March 2.
One of them is a clinician at the Mount Vernon Cancer Center in Northwood.
In Berkshire, schools are closing for deep cleaning after a case of coronavirus was confirmed.
The case was at Willow Bank Infant School in Woodley and was confirmed on Saturday, February .
The school, and its neighbouring junior school in Duffield Road, have both closed for deep cleaning.
The member of staff from Willow Bank infant school who tested positive for coronavirus is being treated at a center in London.
Anyone who has been in close contact with them is being contact by Public Health England and given advice.
Tourists in Edinburgh were seen wearing face masks
News broke last night of Scotland’s first confirmed case.
The patient is a resident of the Tayside area and recently returned home from northern Italy, where two regions – Lombardy and Veneto – have been locked down due to an outbreak that has killed . The patient was admitted to a hospital in Scotland and was being treated in isolation as health officials trace people they had contact with.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: “The patient is not seriously ill at this stage, they are in hospital as a precautionary measure. “
The Tayside resident is currently receiving treatment in isolation, although the majority of future cases are likely to involve self-isolation rather than people being taken to hospital “unless there is a clinical need”, Ms Sturgeon said.
The latest figures in Scotland reveal 1280 people have been tested for the infection, with one confirmed case.
Wales
News broke three days ago of the country first confirmed case.
It is understood the patient was from the Swansea area and had recently traveled back from northern Italy.
Public Health Wales have confirmed in a statement that the Welsh patient with coronavirus was taken to a specialist unit in the Royal Free Hospital in London, one of four centers dealing with coronavirus cases in England.
The man had been on a skiing trip with his family in Italy, a friend has claimed.
The woman, who does not wish to be named, claimed the Swansea man, who was aged in his s, co ntacted NHS Direct Wales on on Sunday, was tested on Tuesday and received the results on Wednesday, confirming he had the virus, official name COVID-1.
The leader of Swansea council Rob Stewart said: “I know there has been much speculation today about Coronavirus in Swansea. We have been working closely with the local health board and Public Health Wales since being altered to this potential situation late last night.
“We understand that people will naturally be concerned but want to reassure the public the risk remains low. We have and continue to work closely the local health board and Public Health Wales to provide reassurance to the community.
“There are no cases of Novel Coronavirus at any of our schools and all of our schools will remain open. Public Health Wales have published their advice and the Council have observed their requirement to protect the anonymity of the location and identity of the patient.
“The infected patient does have a link to Bishop Gore School. We are grateful for the way in which the school and in particular the headteacher, Helen Burgum, have responded and handled the situation. She has been fantastic.
“We hope that the instance of Coronavirus infection in Swansea is contained, and wish the patient a speedy and full recovery. Public Health Wales will provide more updates as required. ”
Northern Ireland
Health chiefs revealed on Thursday evening that a woman was in isolation at Belfast Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) with the disease after returning to the city from Italy.
Her presumptive positive test was taken by RVH virologists but then had to be sent to a Public Health England lab before the case could finally be confirmed.
A spokesperson for the Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland said they have now “received notification that the one presumptive positive case of COVID – in Northern Ireland has now been confirmed by reference laboratory “.
Coronavirus outbreak
On Friday at 5. (pm a total of tests had been carried out in Northern Ireland for the new viral strain, just one of which has been found positive.
The PHA said they have contacted those “who came into closest contact” with the ill woman as she traveled from Dublin Airport to Belfast.
“I would emphasize that members of the public who have traveled between Dublin and Belfast using public transport need not be concerned, “said Dr Jillian Johnston, Consultant in Health Protection at the PHA.
