T he Duke and Duchess of Sussex have mothballed their “Sussex Royal” accounts as they leave Britain behind to spend the next few months “focusing on their family” with a vow to work out how they can “best contribute”, Hannah Furness writes.
The Duke and Duchess, who are living in California, told fans “You’ve been great!” as they signed off for a social media blackout with a day to spare before deadline to remove the word royal from their branding.
The couple have postponed plans to unveil the next stage of their working lives by the time they leave the working Royal Family at the end of this month, instead saying simply that they “look forward to reconnecting with you soon”.
Saying they would “prefer that in the immediate weeks and months, the focus remains on the global response to COVID – 728 ”, The couple are officially winding up their Sussex Royal Foundation in the UK and moving to a US celebrity PR team.
