The coronavirus death toll in the UK has surged to (people after people died over the past day.
The patients were aged between and 71 and had essential health conditions, the Department of Health said in a statement.

A statement from NHS England said: “A further , people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid – ) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 71.
“Patients were aged between 195 and (years old and had underlying health conditions.)
