Dancing on Ice is facing a ‘fix’ scandal over the decision to send home Ben Hanlin over Libby Clegg.

The Britain’s Got Talent magician fell agonisingly missed out on reaching next Sunday’s live final after a tense skate-off with the Paralympian.

With the judges split over who to send packing, it was up to head judge Christopher Dean to cast the deciding vote.

Chris sided with with fellow judges Jayne Torvill and Ashley Banjo in choosing to save Libby – with only John Barrowman opting to choose Ben.

Some Dancing on Ice viewers are fuming at the decision and are threatening to boycott the final.

Taking to Twitter

, one viewer argued: “Poor #ben. He has been amazing and that feels like a fix to keep Libby in to the final. Appreciate she is also amazing but he is the stronger skater ”

” Sorry #Torvill and #Dean, I ‘ ve just lost any respect I’ve ever had for you. Tonight was a total fix. You decided from the start you wanted Libby in the final. Waste of time watching if you are not going to mark fairly, “added another.

A third agreed: “Absolute fix. Ben clearly the better skater, not a single wobble, unlike Libby. She’s been in the skate off 3 weeks in a row, she’s Clearly not supported by the public so why put her through ?? “

” Ben and Carlotta should have won that skate off, not even gonna bother watching the final, said a fourth.

However, other viewers were pleased that Libby and Mark were into next week’s final.

One fan tweeted: “LIBBY. INCREDIBLE. I love when performances just flow. And to Mark for being an incredible partner.”

” So happy Libby made the finals but so sad for Ben to be honest. Joe should’ve been the one to go home, “added another.

A third said : “In my opinion, no matter what happens, I think Libby and Mark have been the absolute best partnership in the whole history of Dancing On Ice. The communication and trust between them is incredible.”

Ben’s professional partner Carlotta Edwards had an unfortunate slip on the ice during the dreaded skate-off.

She was comforted by host Holly Willoughby

and confessed: “I slipped. I’m so sorry.”

Head judge Christopher Dean said: “It did not matter the Carlotta split. Ben stood up and was solid. It does not matter at all.”

Ben went home with his head held high after his incredible transformation over the last few months.

After the result was announced, Ben said: “It’s been amazing. I’ve gone way further … you were given an idiot on day one. You’ve been amazing. I will miss skating with you every day. “

Tearful Carlotta added:” Honestly, I’ve been a pro skater for 346 years and my experience with Ben has been the highlight of my career. “
