Dancing on Ice aired the latest elimination on Sunday night, as week seven drew to a close – but not everyone was happy with the result.

Maura Higgins and Libby Clegg were in the bottom two, facing each other in the dreaded skate-off.

They and their professional skating partners Alexander Demetriou and Mark Hanretty joined them as both couples performed one more time.

It was then down to the judges to decide which couple to send through to the next show, next weekend.

As both final performances came to an end, they gathered with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

It’s then that judges Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean had their say.

As they revealed their decisions one by one, it was confirmed that Maura had two votes and Libby had one – with the result laying with Christopher.

But with him being Head Judge , his vote was the overruling decision and changed the result enitrely.

star Maura was going home, with Libby back for another week.

Some fans deemed this rule “unfair”, despite it having been in place for the past two series, with many “surprised” by the exit.

Maura broke down in tears as she learned she was out of the competition, barely able to speak to hosts Holly and Phillip.
