Death Stranding Embargo Lifts A Week Before Launch

Nevertheless, seeing an embargo lift a week before launch is uncommon and shows just how confident Sony and creator Hideo Kojima are about Death Stranding living up to the hype the title has garnered since it was first announced back at E3 in 2016.

Whether this confidence turns out to be brazen or rooted in reality remains to be seen, but we can more or less be sure that Death Stranding will land asone of the most divisive titles of this generation. Some will love its quirky aspects and presumablyinnovative ‘Strand’ game play, while others will love to hate it or quite simply not click with Kojima’s grand ambition of ushering in a gaming revolution.

One Last Trailer

While we’ve been privy to a lot ofnew nuggets about Death Strandingsince Sony and Kojima unveiled the launch date to great fanfare days before this year edition of E3, the game still withholds many a mystery – a rather unusual occurrence for a title set to reach players in just over three weeks. By this point, developers have generally inundated players with a glut of in-depth details and game play features.

As we wait, we can look forward to a launch trailer for Death Stranding edited by Hideo Kojima himself as he revealed in a Tweet earlier this month. He also says it will be the last one before the game’s release, which going by existing trailers should do well to whet our appetites in anticipation.

It’s been a long journey up to this point, but there’s isn’t too long to wait now for Kojima’s highly-anticipated first non-Konami effort.
