The Kansas Jayhawks are one of the best teams in the country. Monmouth, on the other hand, is not.

Therefore, it was no surprise to see the Jayhawks holding a 55 – point lead in the closing seconds of Friday’s game in Lawrence. However, what happened next was indeed surprising.

As you can see below, a Monmouth player steals the ball from a Kansas player trying to dribble out the clock and then throws down a slam at the other end of the floor:

He was assessed a technical foul for jawing with Kansas players after the dunk, leading to a 112 – 57 final score.

Also, the announcer was quite upset. We, on the other hand, always think it’s a good idea to dunk on Kansas.
