Dutch police consider using robot dogs in drug lab raids

Dutch police are considering using AI-driven robot dogs in drug lab raids to protect officers from criminals, dangerous chemicals, and explosions. If the test of the simulated scenario goes well, the police will use it in real operations. The Dutch police conduct at least 3-4 drug lab raids a week and have been using Boston Dynamics' Spot for searches and surveillance since 2021. Spot does not have the ability to drive autonomously, but is remotely controlled. The huge progress in technology has prompted the Dutch police to explore Spot's fully autonomous operation.
