Disgraced Emmerdale star Asan N’Jie has been recast following his TV Choice Awards showdown.

Asan’s character Ellis Chapman is set to make a dramatic return to the ITV soap, two months after the 25 – year-old actor was sacked for threatening to ‘kill’ fellow soap star Jamie Lomas, 44, at the awards show.

Viewers were told Asan’s character had moved to Dubai, but the show’s bosses have now return, played by Delicious star Aaron Anthony.

Ellis will return unannounced to the village in December amid a storyline involving tensions between his brother Billy and father Al.

Aaron, who played Adam in Sky drama Delicious, and also played Nathan Westwood in Doctors, said of his new role: ‘Emmerdale is a cracking show with a brilliant cast that I’m over the moon to now be a part of.

‘I know Ellis is a well loved character and I’m looking forward to continuing his journey and all that’s in store for him.’

The news comes after Ellis’s departure was announced on the show less than a month ago when Billy revealed he had moved to Dubai to live with his mother Jessie.

Billy said to Al: ‘Don’t freak out but he’s got another job,’ adding: ‘I don’t think you could compete with Dubai. ‘

When Al asked when Ellis would be leaving, Billy said:’ Any time now, ‘as he explained Jessie was incredibly busy with her new job and needed Ellis’s help.

In the evening’s second episode, further details were confirmed.

Billy told Dawn Taylor: ‘Al has been working him into the ground, it’s making him ill.

The actor was seen throwing a punch at Jamie during an explosive fight in front of shocked onlookers, shouting: ‘I’m going to f ***** g kill you’.

Asan, who has been involved in a knife attack Emmerdale plot, could be heard shouting in a video obtained by the Mirror: ‘Do you think you are af ***** g big man? I’m going to f ***** g kill you. I’m going to f ***** g knife you, ‘before attempting to take a swipe at Jamie.

After the Emmerdale actor threw the punch, I’m A Celebrity’s Malique Thompson-Dwyer ran into the room to intervene and bundle Jamie out.

According to reports, the pair had to be pulled apart by security twice at the Hilton Park Lane hotel in Mayfair, London, with Asan eventually being escorted off the premises by staff at around 11 PM.

Emmerdale announced that Asan had been sacked from the soap two days after footage surfaced of the brawl.

An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.

‘But on this occasion instead of ignoring it, why not show everyone how upside down the world is? #noroomforracism. ‘
