Everton fans love Carlo Ancelotti decision for Newcastle clash – 'On a mission' – Express, Express.co.uk

Evertonfans are over the moon to see Moise Kean start as Carlo Ancelotti has made five changes to his Everton team. The Toffees face Newcastle just two days after beating Burnley 1-0 at home in thePremier League.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the only goal in that game and he starts again at St James’ Park.

But he is partnered by Kean, who was previously substituted having came on as a sub when Duncan Ferguson was in caretaker charge.

Leighton Baines, Michael Keane, Tom Davies and Theo Walcott are also involved against Newcastle.

But it’s the decision to start former Juventus star Kean that has got Everton fans excited.

One wrote on social media: “Kean will score his first Everton goal today! ”

Another added: “Sorry, there must be some mistake, Kean appears to be in the starting line-up.”

While one more put: “Big Carlo on a mission to get Moise Kean firing again.”

A fourth fan has confidently predicted: “Kean’s scoring today (% ”

While another has pleaded: “Please Kean, just score for god sake”

Ancelotti’s decision to start Kean comes after he publicly backed the striker to come good.

“Kean is a player we tried to sign when I was at Napoli but he chose Everton ahead of us, ”Ancelotti said.

“ He has fantastic quality and I’m sure he will be a top talent but he is**************************** (years old and everything is new for him here.

“I had the same with Hirving Lozano when he came to Napoli and he was two or three years older.

” When I was a player I remember M ichel Platini arriving at Juventus from Saint-Étienne.

“It took him about six months to adjust, and that was Platini. We should always be patient with young players. ”

This is just Kean’s third league start since sealing a £ million move from Juventus in the summer.

Ancelotti added: “The expectation on him is really high but he is 19 -years-old, we have to be a little bit calm and patient with him.

“He has the quality to become a Premier League striker but, like I said, it takes time because he is – years-old, he is in a new country, with new team-mates and a new manager so we have to stay on him, work with him, try to improve him and also he has to be patient.

“It doesn’t matter if you play or don’t play, try to use this period to improve yourself every single day.”
