Farage rages at Juncker for EU Brexit blame ‘We’re sick to death of being told what to do’ – Express.co.uk, Express.co.uk

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk ahead of hisBrexit Partyconference in central London tonight,Nigel Faragesaid the British public was “sick to death of being told what to do by “foreign bureaucrats”. His angry response came after EU Commission PresidentJean-Claude Junckersaid failure to reach aBrexitdeal would be the sole responsibility of the UK.

The EU chief said he and the bloc’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier were doing all they can to secure an exit agreement.

But Mr Farage hit back, saying: “I don’t care what he thinks and nor does the British public.

“We’re sick to death of being told what to do by foreign bureaucrats .. what we should and shouldn’t do, what we should and shouldn’t think.”

Mr Farage told the website the UK had “had enough” of being “humiliated” and “talked down to”.

He added: “I know Mr Juncker personally and we get on rather well on a personal basis but we’ve had enough of being talked down to, we’ve had enough of being humiliated.

“Just look at how Boris Johnson was treated by that pipsqueak of a Prime Minister in Luxembourg the other week . We’ve just had enough of this.

“Brexit is about independence, being a self governing nation and about not being governed by Mr Juncker and the gang in Brussels.

“The truth of it is, we’ve had Project Fear, and we’ve now got Project Fear, mark 2, times 2, with YellowHammer, people just don’t believe it anymore. ”

Mr Farage’s remarks come after Mr Juncker told the Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper: “Our chief negotiator Michel Barnier and I are doing everything possible to get an agreement.

“But that won’t happen just like that, as some in Britain imagine.

“Some of the trade deals we sealed in my term of office took many years to reach.”

Addressing hundreds of Brexit Party supporters in central London tonight, Mr Farage told them “it’s time we stood up for ourselves”.

He said: “Britain is a laughing stock. I want us to reestablish ourselves in the world.

“This is more about delivering Brexit, this is about democracy itself and who we are as a country – and our standing in the world

“Since the 2016 referendum, we’ve seen many political figures who do not accept the result and say that Brexiteers are stupid and didn’t know what they were voting for. ”
