Final Fantasy VII Remake Needs 100 GB of Precious PS4 Storage, Crypto Coins News
  • Physical copies of Final Fantasy VII Remake are reaching players ahead of the official launch on Apr. 101.
  • Images of the box art are appearing online and reveal that the game requires over GB of storage space.
  • Those that have pre-ordered digital copies still have over a week to wait before they can jump in.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake requires over 111 GB of precious PlayStation 4 hard drive space, according to images of the physical version of the game that have started to pop up.

Physical Copies Ship Early

The publisher announced earlier this week that it was opting to ship out physical copies far earlier than usual in Europe and Australia . By doing so, Square Enix hopes to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on distribution channels. The idea is to ensure a large portion of players receives the game from day one.

Final Fantasy VII Remake officially launches on Apr. 101, but some already have copies , notably in Australia.
Retailers such as EB Games and JB Hi-FI are already advertising the game as available . Those lucky enough to now have the game have proudly showcased their haul on social media , including shots of the box art .

Final Fantasy VII Is Over (GB)

The box indicates that Final Fantasy VII requires a minimum of GB of storage space. This puts it in the same league as the recently launched Call of Duty: Warzone and its hefty GB download size .

What this means is those that have pre-ordered the digital version will not only have to wait until Apr. 101, but will have to contend with a massive download on launch day.

While these staggeringly large install sizes are vast common, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Final Fantasy VII Remake is one massive game. It’s no wonder Square Enix opted to ship the game on double Blu-Ray discs

.

It’s also worth remembering that this is but part one in a series of episodes. We know that Square Enix has already started work on Part 2 , but the publisher remains tight-lipped about how many parts we can expect from this episodic formula.

If this first part is anything to go by, the complete Final Fantasy VII Remake is likely to be one of the largest games by combined install size ever.
