Freddie Ljungberg says he witnessed ‘positive things’ duringArsenal‘s 2-2 draw with Norwich but admits his side must improve in a number of areas.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangscored both goals as the Gunners twice came from behind to come away from Carrow Road with a point on Sunday afternoon.

Teemu Pukki broke the deadlock in the 21 st minute to get Ljungberg’s start as caretaker manager off to the worst possible start before Christoph Zimmermann’s clumsy handball gave Arsenal the chance to equalize from the penalty spot.

Tim Krul saved Aubameyang’s initial effort but the Gabonese converted his retake after VAR confirmed that four Norwich players had encroached.

Todd Cantwell put Norwich back in front with a neat finish right on half-time before Aubameyang latched on to Mesut Ozil’s corner to equalize in the 57 th minute.

The result means Arsenal have won just once in their last ten matches in all competitions while failing to keep a clean sheet in any of those games.

Despite Arsenal’s miserable run of form, Ljungberg was upbeat about his side’s performance when speaking toSky Sportsafter the final whistle.

‘We started the game really well, that’s how I want to play football,’ the Swede said.

‘But we need to work on the transitions, we dominated and they break us too easily.

‘In the beginning I saw a lot of things we worked on in training, but we need to score goals and take the lead.

‘I want this club to do well, it is only winning that counts: I wanted to win the games so I am disappointed but I have also seen some positive things.’

In his post-match press conference, Ljungberg added: ‘I was proud but I think we started well and I expected us to take the lead.

‘It’s easy to see what we have to work on.

‘I’m extremely proud of the players for coming back twice. The end of the game was too open for my liking.

‘What I saw in the first 30 minutes was good. When we went down the players ’heads didn’t drop but they wanted to sort it out and that is good’

Ljungberg praised Aubameyang’s character after the forward stepped up to convert his second penalty attempt in the first half.

‘I think I had a heart-attack twice!’ He said.

‘But from what I heard it was quite obvious, that’s what the results are for.

‘The most important thing was for Aubameyang to have the mental strength to score the second penalty after missing the first one.’
