    BREX-SPLITS

Nigel Farage has been told to ditch his plans to target 600 constituencies and focus onheavy leave seats in the Brexit Party’s election battle.

John Longworth, one of the party’s senior MEPs, told Mr Farage he should be “sensible” and ensure pro-Leave MPs return to Westminster.

If there is a hung Parliament, any seats won by Mr Farage’s party could be crucial in delivering Boris Johnson a potential majority in the Commons.

Mr Longworth toldThe Times: “I think we ought to be targeted in terms of the number of seats that we decide to address.

“I can imagine that might be 20 or 30. They would be entirely winnable then if you poured all your resources into them.

“You probably would not get any more if you concentrated on the 600. But you would also get a better result for Brexit too. ”

    NEVERENDUM

Jeremy Corbyn could grant another Scottish referendum if they win the election, his spokesperson confirmed today.

Tories accused them of doing a “backroom deal with Nicola Sturgeon” to curry favor ahead of an election.

If Mr Corbyn was to win the most seats in a national poll but not enough to get a majority, he could look to the Scottish National Party to help them out.

But it’s likely they would make a second independence referendum the price of their support.

NEW – Jeremy Corbyn’s spokesman says Labor could grant a Scottish independence referendum if they win the election. But rules out doing it in the first year of a Corbyn government.

BARNIER WARNS BRITAIN COLD STILL HAVE NO DEAL

Michel Barnier has been speaking this afternoon.

He warned Britain could still leave without a deal at the end of 2020 – and predicted that an extension to the transition period may be needed by the middle of next year.

He said: “The risk of Brexit happening without a ratified deal still exists. It could happen at the end of January. It could also happen at the end of 2020.

“It could happen if we have a deal ratified before the 31 st of January but do not manage to put in place a new agreement on our future relationship with the UK before the end of December 2020, unless the transition period is extended.

“It’s the second time where there’s a risk of No Deal. Summer 2020 will be the first moment of truth to see where we’re at and whether we ‘ ll need another extension to the transition period. ”

The EU boss – who will be in charge of trade talks after we finally leave, said any deal would have to have no tariffs or quotas at all too.

    PRICE POINT

Running to be an MP – or to get re-elected – is an expensive business.

Labor MP Jess Phillips has said today she’ll be trying to crowd-fund £ 15, 000 to pay for it.

She says: ”Last time I stood for election my campaign was funded by ordinary people who felt they wanted to do something to help, it’s the way I want to do politics with the strength of the crowd. Please help if you can. ”

    RUDDY HELL

The row between Amber Rudd and No 10 has escalated this afternoon – after No 10 denied she had had a formal meeting with the PM in the last week.

Rudd claimed the pair had a meeting and she was confident of leaving on good terms.

Definitely some miscommunication going on here.
