Google Wifi Review

Google’sWiFi routeris one of the less known Google-made products. It’s also been a while since Google launched the first version of the Google WiFi router. And so, it’s getting ready to launch the next-gen Google WiFi with some major changes, possibly for anOctober 15 launchalong with the new Pixel phones.

Like theupcoming Google Home Miniand probably its future home products, Google is moving away from the Google Home branding to Nest. The next-gen WiFi router from Google will apparently be called Nest WiFi.

According to9to5Google, the next-gen router will feature some major changes in the way it works. Google will offer the “main” router along with some smaller beacons that work with the main router, kind of like how Amazon-owned Eero’s mesh home routers work. And these new smaller beacons will have Google Assistant support built-in. Along with the usual Assistant features, the Nest WiFi beacons will feature some WiFi-specific features like being able to pause the internet in certain rooms or for specific devices with your voice. The main router part of the new Nest WiFi system won’t, however, include Assistant support.

Google is also introducing a refreshed design with the Nest WiFi that will allow the routers to fit into your house much better than before, and Google plans to offer three different colors to help you pick the one that fits the vibe of your rooms the most.

And if you already have the existing Google WiFi system, you will apparently be able to use products from the new Nest WiFi line with your existing routers, which sounds like a really good deal.
