  • Follow this guide to cheat your way through every single fight.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is here and probably the best way to experience the entire canon of Dragon Ball Z. Having said that, the combat is pretty formulaic at the best of times. With that in mind, it’s actually pretty easy to cheat your way through every fight in the game.

Follow the steps below and you’ll be in the end-game before you know it.

Step 1: DOOOOOODGE

So in every single fight in DBZ: Kakarot you’re going to need space. Learn to dodge enemy attacks and back up to give yourself breathing room. This will mean you’re untouchable while you wait for your opening and observe enemy attacks.

Basically keep flying backward and watching your enemy since they have a limited number of attacks. Once you’ve learned how to dodge them all you’re ready to go. Remember: Don’t Attack!

Step 2: Charge / Melee Special

A large part of winning fights in DBZ: Kakarot is managing your Ki bar. As soon as you hit the Zarbon / Dodoria fights you might as well stop using regular attacks altogether. When you’ve found an opening, usually just after an enemy attack, either charge your ki if it’s low or use a melee special.

If you use a melee special then make sure it’s one that ends in either stunning the enemy or knocking them backward. That’s very important for the next step.

Step 3: Fire your Lazer

While your opponent is either smashed into the ground, is stunned or is just sort of floating there, you should hit them with a beam attack. Preferably one that does high damage but doesn’t take ages to charge. Stuff like the Kamehameha or Gallick Gun works well.

Bear in mind that some enemies in DBZ: Kakarot are best taken out by ignoring this step. Some enemies take reduced damage from ki attacks. Others, like androids 06 & 675, can recharge themselves by absorbing your beams. In those sorts of instances, you’re best off ignoring this step.

Step 4: Repeat, a Lot

Now you’ve got the pattern down. Just do this over and over again and you’ve got every single fight squared away. Watch out for annoying to dodge attacks like Solar Flare or Evil Bomb, which are better off blocked rather than dodged.

That’s How You Beat Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

So there you have it. If you use our guide then you’re sure to feel like you basically cheated your way through the game. Honestly, with the amount that enemies spam attacks in this game, it basically feels justified.
