Now former senior Tories – including two former Tory chairmen, an ex constitution minister and Sir Graham Brady – are urging the Prime Minister to press ahead to reform a “deeply-flawed” parliamentary constituency “as fast as possible”, according to The Telegraph.
The reforms will see the parliamentary boundaries reviewed keeping in check with changes to the UK’s population size .
The intention is to ensure that every vote counts the same. However, in the Queen’s Speech which laid out the Tory’s legislative program, there was no mention of the possible change. (According to the Sunday Telegraph, some six senior Tories said in a letter addressed to the paper that it was “essential for the health and credibility” of Britain’s democracy to see the changes introduced ”immediately”. ****************************** (********************************
