I’m a Celebritycaused a stir on Friday night (November 29) – and for once it had nothing to do withpigs testicles,deadly lizardsorsmelly celebs.

Nope, a voting blunder unfolded following the elimination of the first campmate,Adele Roberts.

Although Ant and Dec had previously told viewers to phone in and vote for the celebrities they want to keep in the camp, the phone app said “vote off” above the contestants’ names and photos.

After a number of confused fans took to Twitter to describe the app as“misleading”, the hosts confirmed it was a “wording error” and that only the phone votes would count towards the elimination.

ITV also released the following statement: “Due to a wording error on the app, the result of tonight’s vote will be based on phone votes alone.

“If you’ve already voted via the app we are very sorry, but your vote will not count tonight.”

Unsurprisingly, many fans flocked to Twitter in anger over the mistake, with some claiming the vote was“fixed”.

“@ imacelebrity tonight’s elimination was an unfair result on your behalf,”said one person. “If you put incorrect wording on the ‘I’m a celebrity’ app then there should have been elimination because the results would not be a true and fair result!”

Another wrote: “Not happy there is no way Adele would have gone if the app was correct. There should have been another vote.”

Despite the controversy, Adele took the elimination on the chin, telling Dec: “I feel like at least I’m first at something.”

Discussing the show’s impact on her life, the star added: “I feel like I’m stronger than I realize, and I feel like there are so many things I can do – it’s just the way that you view things.

“So even as something as small as just seeing a spider in a bath doesn’t scare me anymore.”
