I’m A Celebrity hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have responded to questions over why they cover up their watches during most, if not all, Bushtucker Trials.

Fans noticed recently, and in every series in fact, Ant and Dec often cover up the faces of their arm accessories to hide the time.

Some viewers were still confused about the situation despite reasons having been given over the years.

While plenty of viewers now know the reason, Ant and Dec asked them for help in explaining why the watches are covered up when they’re around the celebrities.

Taking toTwitterin response to the question, Ant said: “Who’s gonna explain ?????”

One fan had tweeted: “Is Ant’s watch covered because of cameras or because of the sun reflection?@ antanddecor am I seeing things? “

Another asked: “Please explain why you cover your watches during trials?”

But viewers who knew the answer were quick to respond, with this being the same every year.

It turns out it’s to keep the celebrities in the dark in regards to what time it is Down Under.

One fan commented: ” The celebs aren’t allowed to know the time. “

Another agreed:” It’s so the camp mates don’t know the time when they go into the camp .

Ant’s watch face was on show in the latest trial

But one fan noticed that it hasn’t happened in every trial, tweeting: “No covers on the watches this year@ antanddec, or is it just my eyes? “

Viewers watching the latest trial on Wednesday, shown in a preview clip before the episode, might have noticed Ant’s watch face appeared to be visible.

It seems the boys only use the tactic when they’re wearing short sleeves.

Holly Willoughby and Scarlett Moffatt have both commented in the past about the decision.
