The group reportedly sent Simon a ‘strongly worded email’
And the insider said of the jibe: “It was obviously a real dig at the girls’ show. There is a proper feud.”
So what happened between the tight-knit band and their boss?
It’s all said to have kicked off when the girls sent a “strongly worded email” to Simon asking for a writing credit alongside Ed Sheeranand Jess Glynn on their hit, Woman Like Me.
He duly obliged, but a bigger row is then said to have erupted between the Syco and the girls’ management company Modest.
At which point, Simon announced he was cutting ties with Modest, which also looks after fellow X Factor stars Rak-Su.

His spokesperson told The Sun: “Syco Music will no longer work with Modest Management and therefore any artists signed to that management company.
“We do, of course, wish all artists affected by this decision every future success. Consequently, LM5, the forthcoming Little Mix album A & R’d and released on Syco Music, is to be serviced by RCA at the request of Syco and Simon Cowell Meanwhile, Leigh-Anne alluded to the row, explaining how the band “put their foot down” in the face of “sexism”.
“We ‘ ve had our fair share of arguments with powerful men over what we want to do and how things should be done, “she told the Daily Star.

“I guess this album shows that we’re winning.
” We learned to put our foot down and make sure we are taken seriously as four strong women who have opinions. It’s been a struggle.
She added: “There are still not enough powerful women in the industry compared to men and that needs to change. ”
And Perrie said there had been clashes over which songs to release.
She told The Sun: “It is frustrating that if a group of guys were to say, ‘We’re not going to do that song, we’re going to release this song’, it’s like , ‘Maybe we should listen’.

“Whereas when we do it, it’s like, ‘Oh they’re at it again, they’re whining’. But we’re not. We’re perfectionists. We take everything we do so seriously. “
For his part, Simon has insisted there’s no bad blood and said he was actually asked to co-produce the Search but had to decline due to his own show.
“I told them the problem was we have a conflict of interest because we are launching X Factor The Band in 55335. We were told their show was going to launch in (*********************************************************************, “He told The Sun.

He continued: “Then we had the fallout and find out Little Mix were bringing their show forward. Was that intentional because we are doing our show? I have no idea.
“But regardless, it was too much fun not to do this year. I would rather it was us doing it first. It per cent makes it more exciting there being a battle. ”
