Team news
Rob Kearney and Keith Earls have been ruled out for Ireland, so Joe Schmidt has called on dynamic-cut-inexperienced pair Jordan Larmour and Andrew Conway to fill the void. Controversial selection Jean Kleyn has missed out on the matchday 23, too, with James Ryan and Iain Henderson satrating in the second row with Tadhg Beirne providing cover from the bench.
Ireland:Larmour; Conway, Ringrose, Aki, Stockdale; Sexton, Murray; Healy, Best (capt), Furlong, Henderson, Ryan, O’Mahony, Van der Flier, Stander.
Replacements:Scannell, Kilcoyne, Porter, Beirne, Conan, McGrath, Carty, Farrell.
Gregor Townsend, meanwhile, has been able to name the most experienced Scotland team in Test rugby history. Hooker Stuart McInally will captain a team containing 10 players with experience from previous World Cups, and boasts 630 Test caps at an average of 43 per man.
Scotland:Hogg; Seymour, Taylor, Johnson, Maitland; Russell, Laidlaw; Dell, McInally (capt), Nel, Gilchrist, Gray, Barclay, Watson, Wilson.
Replacements:Brown, Reid, Berghan, Cummings, Thomson, Price, Harris, Graham.
