The US says it fully supports Israel’s right to self-defense after the Israeli military and Hezbollah fighters exchanged fire along the Lebanese border.
Hezbollah fired anti-tank missiles towards an Israeli military post on Sunday afternoon, while Israel sent about 100 artillery shells at what it said was Hezbollah targets across the border.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has denied Israeli accusation that it was assembling precision-guided missiles.
Al Jazeera’s Harry Fawcett reports from northern Israel.
