Liverpool great Jamie Carragher has hailed Alisson after his display vs Norwich City in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Reds extended their lead at the top of the table to 25 points thanks to the 1-0 victory at Carrow Road .
Alisson was key again for the Reds as he came up with a pivotal effort to stop Norwich from taking the lead in the first half.
The Canaries beat the offside trap when Lukas Rupp went through o n goal but the Brazilian goalkeeper was calm and made himself big, something which put the Norwich man off and made him square the ball to Teemu Pukki rather than take the one-on-one shot invitation.
Alisson then came up with a brilliant interception by scooping the ball away from Pukki before he could strike home.
The 27 – year-old saved Liverpool in that moment and it’s not for the first time this season, with (Carragher) subsequently labeling Alisson as the ‘best goalkeeper in the world’ immediately following the incident.
Carragher said on commentary during Sky Sports’ coverage: “I think he (Rupp) is just onside but it would have been looked at again.
“Liverpool have got the best goalkeeper in the world. He has showed it yet again.

“It’s a lovely first touch (by Rupp) but Alisson did go too early and he waited and waited and then when he passed it he was on it. “
Carragher also added that he has seen a valuable ascent this season from Alisson, who joined the Reds from Roma back in . He added: “This season he has elevated himself to the number one goalkeeper in the world. You only have to look at Liverpool’s defensive record and how often he saves big chances. People talk about Virgil van Dijk’s impact on this team, he (Alisson ) is exactly the same. “
