Jennifer Garnercelebrated Breast Cancer Awareness month by sharing her trip for a yearly mammogram on her Instagram Wednesday.

The 47 – year-old actress had fun during her trip to the doctor’s office, making the most of her appointment with a few jokes.

In her caption she revealed how she has a ‘standing date’ for her mammogram ‘ every October. ‘

‘For me, having the appointment on the books makes it routine, like the dentist, ‘she went on.

Reassuring women, she wrote:’ I k now it’s scary, sisters, but just do it — the next best thing to an all clear is early detection.

She commended those already battling the disease with the message: ‘To everyone in the thick of the battle — respect and love and strength to you.’

Jen made the most of her doctor’s appointment.

The mother-of-three slipped into a blue smock before filling out some forms with goofy doodles. Then she sat and waited for her time.

Once it was her turn for the machine, Jen dealt with the temporary discomfort by making funny faces.

She had to be patient once again as she awaited her results, but the actress wasted time by playing around with a surgical glove.

Then the doctor gave her the all-clear, prompting Jennifer to go into victory dance.

Medical professionals suggest women consult their personal doctors as to when and how often to have mammograms, but screening is one of the most successful forms of early detection.
