Denied .. . Kimberley Walsh has claimed she ‘just didn’t click with Nadine and Sarah’ from Girls Aloud, but that there’s ‘absolutely no rift’ amid the women of the former-band

‘There is honestly no rift, we just didn’t click in the same way with Nadine and Sarah that we’d want to see each other every week. It was more that we were work friends. ‘

Kimberley has always retained a close-knit relationship with Nicola and Cheryl, whereas she has drifted apart

It was rumored last week that she, Cheryl and Nicola even have a WhatsApp group together which they use to discuss Nadine while she appeared on I’m A Celeb.

Kimberley added: ‘That is so totally untrue that we’ve got any discussions going on. It is so untrue that it’s actually really hard to take.

‘There is honestly no rift!’ The band has been plagued with rumors of a tiff for years [pictured in 2012 L-R Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Cheryl and Kimberley Walsh]

‘We were just not as close, not best friends, and we don’t have the same kind of relationship [with Nadine and Sarah]. But watching someone [taking part on I’m A Celebrity] makes you realize how much you do care for someone. ‘

Kimberley also proved there’s no beef with the girls as she admitted she’d be up for Girls Aloud reuniting in the future, much like the Spice Girls did this year.

‘My life is very different to when I was in Girls Aloud. I was a different age, it was a different job. And we don’t have any plans for a reunion but who knows – never say never. ‘

‘So untrue!’ It was rumored last week that Kimberley, Cheryl and Nicola even have a WhatsApp group together which they use to discuss Nadine while she appeared on I’m A Celeb – something the ladies have vehemently denied

Kimberley admitted, however, that the jet-set, touring lifestyle of a pop group would not work for her now that she’s a mum of two; nor could she do a show like I’m A Celeb.

‘I couldn’t be away from my children,’ she said. ‘I think that’s probably the hardest part of doing the jungle. The separation and the emotional side of it. ‘

Kimberley shares sons Bobby, five, and Cole, with her husband Justin Scott.

And she retains that she’s ‘not interested in a pop solo career’ but that her recent appearance in Big: The Musical has helped her to catch the acting bug .

‘I’ve really been blown away by the response from the fans,’ she said. ‘I’m looking forward to some time off now, over Christmas, but I really would like to do more acting.

‘ There’s a few things bubbling under for next year. We shall see … ‘

Kimberley is supporting #CelebratingNationalLottery 25 – an initiative to boost community spirit across the UK and celebrate The National Lottery’s 25 th Birthday.

The National Lottery is giving away £ 2 million to help bring people and communities together, and anyone with a great idea to make a difference and boost community spirit in their local area can apply for a small grant to make their idea a reality.

Kimberley, who has previously supported charities that have received National Lottery funding, and is of course known for making a difference as part of her charity challenges, said : ‘Being in a band, always away from home, you can feel a bit removed from community spirit. But now I’m a mum it’s different.

Friends: Kimberley said – ‘It is completely untrue. It did surprise me and Cheryl. She text me and said “I’m actually crying my eyes out. It’s awful” ‘[pictured 2008]

‘I go to toddler groups. I get involved with things. And it’s good to be able to get things out there – I am lucky to have a voice. ‘

‘When she jumped out the plane I couldn’t believe the reaction I had. I started welling up and was in tears. It made me realize I cared so much about people.

Group: Girls Aloud are pitcured in 2012 after they reformed for their 10 year anniversary

‘Nadine has always been a scaredy cat like when we’ve been on rides and things.’

When quizzed about the alleged group chat, The Promise singer said Cheryl had been rocked by the claims.

Kimberley said: ‘It is completely untrue. It did surprise me and Cheryl. She text me and said “I’m actually crying my eyes out. It’s awful.” ‘

When host Ruth Langsford added that Kimberley, Nicola and Cheryl are ‘closer’ Kimberley responded: ‘Which is true. There is a genuine real connection with us three that was meant to be.

‘With Nadine and Sarah it was a working relationship but we are a family. It made me realize how much I do care for her watching her which is nice.

‘ With girls they constantly want to find the negativity. I’m a real girls girl. I don’t like it. ‘

Discussing Nadine’s time in the jungle and the memorable moment she taught Caitlyn Jenner the choreography to The Promise, Kimberley said: ‘I was really excited by that.’

The interview comes as Cheryl, Kimberley and Nicola issued statements to MailOnline following claims they had been ‘voting repeatedly’ for Nadine to do the Bushtucker Trials on I’m A Celeb.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Cheryl said: ‘We only want to see Nadine do well, and regardless of any differences we might have had, we will always all have love for each other.

Rumors : It comes after Nadine dismissed longstanding rumors she and Cheryl did not get along during her days in Girls Aloud during a recent episode of I’m A Celebrity

‘We did not enjoy watching her distressed when jumping out of the plane. And we don’t have time for group chats regarding the trials on the show! ‘

Kimberley also dismissed the claim and said her heart went out to Nadine when she teared up before jumping out of the helicopter during the launch episode.

She told MailOnline: ‘I felt really emotional watching Nadine jump out of the plane and texted Cheryl saying how hard it was to watch. I think she’s doing great in there. ‘

Nicola echoed Cheryl and Kimberley’s statements and added that the trio do not have a group chat about Nadine or I’m A Celebrity.

She said: ‘We don’t have a group chat about I’m A Celebrity, this just isn’ t true. We only wish Nadine the best in the jungle and hope she does well on the show. ‘
