PEEEEEP!

Full time

Liverpool hold on !!

What a rearguard in the end having been

The Reds go 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

But they haven’t made it easy for themselves.

90 ‘

Henderson blocks a cross.

Van Dijk headers away.

Henderson boots long.

Liverpool doing enough.

90 ‘

Four minutes of stoppage time.

Liverpool are defending much better now.

Brighton need a late second wind to get something from this …

88 ”

OH MY WORD!

Adrian had his heart in his mouth there.

He drops the ball and just (I mean just) reclaims it in front of Maupay.

It was trickling towards the goal as line.

86 ‘

Adrian now forced into a save.

Mooy tests him out and the Spaniard needs to block it away.

Under 5 minutes now.

84 ‘

Whistles from the Liverpool fans.

Brighton are in constant possession but can’t find a way through.

Strange situation for the Reds.

Adrian does dive at the feet of Connolly to stop anything developing.

81 ”

Just under 10 minutes for Liverpool to hang on.

Their run of no clean sheets at Anfield continues.

Brighton pushing hard …

KEY EVENT

GOAL! Liverpool 2-1 Brighton (Dunk)

DUNK NETS!

Straight from the free kick the center back scores.

He’s completely caught out Adrian with a low drill.

It goes through the wall and is in the bottom corner.

Adrian didn’t look ready there … he was still sorting out the wall.

What an abysmal minute or two for Liverpool.

77 ‘

Adrian comes on for Liverpool with Oxlade-Chamberlain sacrificed.

Just before the red card Origi came on.

KEY EVENT

RED CARD

ALISSON GONE!

Trossaud attempts to lob over the keeper and he’s uses his arm.

The Brazilian will be out of the Merseyside Derby.

He shakes his head but knows he has to go.

74 ‘

Alisson rushes out his box to deal with a sniff of danger.

It has been one of those second halves where neither side can get a grip.

What’s the score Virgil?

Van Dijk a stumble away from a hat-trick.

Well hooked off his toes by Dunk.

64 ”

Dunk leaps out to make a good block.

Oxlade-Chamberlain hit that hard towards the bottom corner.

Would have gone in if not for Dunk.

62 ‘

Connolly is berating himself for this one.

He controls well to beat Lovren before swivelling a shot.

Straight at Alisson though.

58 ‘

Salah proves he is human.

Mane tees him up on the edge of the area.

It is at an awkward height and the Egyptian shins it horribly.

54 ‘

A second moment Dunk would probably like to relive this afternoon.

He gets up well at a corner but his header is flicked just wide.

Better contact and it is 2-1.

The next goal in this match is vital.

49 ”

Nothing of note to report so far since the interval.

Henderson has broken up play well a couple of times.

Liverpool just about in control.

PEEEEP!

Second half

Back underway for the second half.

PEEEEP!

Half time

Van Dijk the difference at the break.

Two brilliant headers from Alexander-Arnold crosses.

It hasn’t been plain sailing though.

45 ”

Oxlade-Chamberlain pops up on the edge of the area at the perfect time.

But his shot lacks power and isn’t quite in the corner.

Ryan smoothers it.

44 ”

It has calmed down again.

Liverpool’s intensity has returned.

Robertson attempts a cross on the left which is blocked – but at least they are at the right end of the pitch.

39 ‘

Liverpool haven’t kept a clean sheet at Anfield all season.

And there is a chance that run will continue here.

Propper screws just wide moments after Alexander-Arnold is needed to slice away in the middle of the box.

Brighton the better side of the 10 to 15 minutes.

37 ‘

OH MY!

How has Dunk slotted wide?

The defender is up from the back and is just onside on the second phase.

But with the goal at his mercy he prods past the post.
