Liverpool announce squad update ahead of Villa clash

Liverpool have confirmed their squad for this week’s upcoming Club World Cup competition.

The Reds head to Qatar to begin their involvement in the tournament as European champions, their first game against Mexican side Monterrey on Wednesday afternoon.

That is less than hours after the Carabao Cup clash withAston Villaat Villa Park, Jurgen Klopp electing to send two different squads to both matches.

Neil Critchley will take a youthful Reds side to B6 while Klopp will be in Qatar hoping for a first win in the competition in the clu b’s history.

Young German goalkeeper linked

Villa andLiverpoolhave been linked with a move for Swansea City goalkeeper Steven Benda.

According to Football League World, the 24 – year-old’s impressive performances for Swindon Town on loan this season have attracted scouts to the County Ground to keep an eye on him.

The report adds that, although no immediate bid is anticipated, Villa and the Reds will continue to keep tabs on the former Munich and FC Heidenheim youth. **********
