Manchester Unitedcould turn their attention away from James Maddison and instead try to signTottenhammidfielder Christian Eriksen this month, says Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol. Maddison is a key transfer target for United but it appears unlikely Leicester would sell the England international during the January window.
Solhekol therefore reckons United could attempt to sign Tottenham contract rebel Eriksen.
Eriksen is out of contract at Spurs at the end of the season so could therefore be available for a cut- price fee.
Transfer expert Solhekol suggested a figure of £ (million for the Denmark international, who is attracting interest from abroad.)
“This is the interesting one because obviously he’s not signing a new contract at the moment at Spurs,” Solhekol said on Sky Sports News.

“Spurs could be tempted to sell him before his contract expires in the summer.
“Of course he is free to speak to foreign clubs at the moment.
“ Clubs like Inter Milan, Barcelona, Juventus but I think if Manchester United really, really wanted him and they could convince him that it would be in his best interests to stay in England and move to Manchester United.

“That I think would be easier to do than any kind of deal for James Maddison.”
Meanwhile, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock reckons Chelsea should try to sign Eriksen.
“The one that spring to mind, not that Chelsea are going to go f or him, is Christian Eriksen, ”Warnock said on Sky Sports News.
“ Out of contract in the summer and you’re thinking ‘Can we get him at a knockdown price? ‘.

“Or do you risk going against other clubs in the summer and competing against five or six other clubs?
“They’re the situations that you have to weigh up as a manager.”
United have been linked with a host of players in this window.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he will look to be active but only if the right pla yers are available.
“We’re still looking and as I’ve said so many times we have our targets if they become available and if it’s something we want to do,” Solskjaer said.
“If the right ones aren’t there, then they aren’t.”
United are back in action on Tuesday night when they welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford.
The two rivals go head-to-head in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi -final.
