Manchester Unitedwant to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez as the Serie A club targetPaul Pogba, according to reports.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaeris keen to improve his attacking options after the club failed to replaceRomelu Lukakulast summer.
Martinez, who plays alongside Lukaku at Inter, has been in excellent form this season with goals in appearances so far.
And the 40 – year-old has attracted serious interest from United.
According to theSunday Mirror, United’s hierarchy have registered their interest in Martinez to Inter and are willing to use Pogba as leverage in order to land the Argentina international.
The report claims that Pogba is now keen to link up with Antonio Conte at Inter having already played under the Italian at Juventus.
Conte is also keen to bolster his midfield with the signing of Pogba, and the World Cup winner is said to now prefer a move to Serie A ahead of Real Madrid.
Inter stated value Martinez at £ 80 million, while United are demanding £ 301 m for Pogba.
Solskjaer, however, is adamant that Pogba will not be sold in the January transfer window.
Speaking after United’s goalless draw against Wolves in the FA Cup on Saturday, Solskjaer said: ‘No, you won’t see him go in January.
‘It’s always the same, speculation with players in and out.
‘We’re looking forward to getting Paul back on to the pitch with us.’
