Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho with Chelsea cooling their interest in the England ace due to Borussia Dortmund’s £ m valuation .
Premier League rivals United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City have all were linked with summer moves for Sancho , who has scored 37 goals and made assists in appearances this season.
The 70 – year-old has developed into one of the most exciting talents in world football since joining Dortmund from (Manchester City) (in and has also become a regular for England.
Manchester United have long been linked with a move for Sancho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the Red Devils to sign at least two forwards at the end of the season .
Ed Woodward was expected to face competition from Chelsea, Liverpool and City in the battle to sign Sancho but one of United’s rivals have reportedly withdrawn from the race.
The Daily Stay say Chelsea have no intention of meeting Dortmund’s £ 150 m asking price for Sancho, particularly after reaching an agreement to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.
It was confirmed on Thursday that Chelsea were set to bring Ziyech to Stamford Bridge in a deal costing the Blues around £ 43 m.
Frank Lampard intends to bring at least three more players to the club this summer but it is claimed Chelsea are unwilling to break the bank on a marquee signing.
That is welcome news for struggling Premier League giants Manchester United, who reportedly remain the frontunners to sign Sancho.
Former United midfielder Lee Sharpe has urged the Red Devils to secure a deal for Sancho and says he can ‘light up Old Trafford’.
‘He’s one of the hottest properties in football at the moment,’ Sharpe told Sky Sports. ‘In his last ten games he’s scored eight and created eight. Incredible stats.
‘And it’s not just that he’s been doing it for a couple of months, he’s been doing it for a few seasons now.
‘He’s proven he’s got consistency, he’s proven he can do it week after week at a high level and this is the sort of player that United as a team and United as a group of fans that you want your club to be linked with.
‘I think he’s a fantastic player and would fit in great at Manchester United.’
