Solskjaer was under pressure, after a poor start to the season.

United had been linked with a move for Pochettino, after he was sacked at Tottenham last month.
But, it appears that the Glazers aren’t interested in making a move for the in-deman d boss, instead choosing to stick by Solskjaer.
The current United manager thinks speculation around his future will die down after this week’s results.
He insisted that the club have a plan going forward, and it’s more important to talk about performances than his job security.

“This week might cause people to talk a bit less, and for me it’s always more fun to talk about things other than critique or speculations,” Solskjaer told Norwegian channel TV2.
“I find it unnecessary when I know what we are doing and trying to do, and what we have planned going forward.
“If we can keep these boys injury-free, we will take lots of points – and we are going to reinforce the squad.
“It is physically tough to play football the way I want to play football.

“But we are on our way to become as robust as I want and need.
“These boys have the right attitude, they have the belief, they are boys that I want to keep going forward, that’s why they are here right now. ”
United are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches, although they did lose against Astana two weeks ago.
The Red Devils have a favorable run of fixtures over the festive period, including matches against Everton, Watford, Newcastle United and Burnley .

Meanwhile, former Liverpool star Stan Collymore admitted he was wrong to suggest that United should appoint Pochettino as the club’s new manager.
United’s recent performances shows that Solskjaer has a plan, and he should stay at the helm until the end of the season.
“I was one of the voices calling for Mauricio Pochettino to walk straight through the door at Manchest er United after his sacking by Tottenham, ”he wrote in the Mirror.
“ I have to acknowledge they have shown real progress – in those first 30 minutes on Saturday they blew City away and, in a derby game, that shows a lot of character from a young team. ”
