Man Utd squad for Watford confirmed as Paul Pogba returns – but eight miss out – Express, Express.co.uk

Manchester Unitedhave named Paul Pogba in their squad for today’s Premier League showdown with Watford. The France international has been missing since the 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the end of September.

Manchester United take on Watford in the Premier League aiming to continue their recent upturn in form.

The Red Devils have won four of their last five matches across all competitions, drawing against Everton but overcoming Tottenham, Manchester City, AZ Alkmaar and Colchester.

And they’ve taken a strong squad for today’s game against Watford.

Pogba is in line to feature, despite the France international continuing to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted he still wants to keep Pogba , saying before today’s match: “He is not being sold in January.

” I hope he will play before the end of the year but I am not going to push him . I can’t risk any setbacks or injuries. “

“He’s training and that’s a step forward for us.

” Of course [I understand the attention], because he’s a fantastic player, a charismatic personality and for us we’re happy that he’s here. ”

United have taken Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Ashley Young, Victor Lindelof, Brandon Williams, Axel Tuanzebe and Harry Maguire as their defenders for today’s match at Vicarage Road.

Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba, Fred, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira and Nemanja Matic are the midfielders in the squad.

And United have also taken Daniel James, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood as their attacking options.

However , the Red Devils are without eight players.

Youngsters James Garner, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong are all missing from the squad.

As if Phil Jones and Diogo Dalot, with the latter playing for United’s Under – side at Leigh on Friday night.

Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly and Tim Fosu-Mensah are also out of action due to injury.

Meanwhile , BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson is predicting Watford to spring a surprise by beating United.

“I was at Anfield last week and Watford really impressed me in Nigel Pearson’s first game in charge, ”he said.

“ They created a lot of chances – proper chances too.

“The Hornets had Ismaila Sarr on the right and Gerard Deulofeu on the left, and they caused the Reds no end of problems. Troy Deeney was a handful up front, and in midfield and defense they were extremely competitive.

“Basically, they looked like the Watford of last season, which is why I am backing them to get only their second league win of the season when United go to Vicarage Road.

“That might surprise a few people but I just think that, with United, we cannot really be sure they are back in the groove.

“They still have something to prove in games like this.”
