Love Island ‘s Maura Higgins ‘ felt pressured ‘to continue her relationship with Curtis Pritchard .
The reality star, who had been in a relationship with Curtis since they found love in the villa, confirmed that she’d split from the professional dancer on Monday but insiders are claiming that the past three months of their romance was a sham.
‘Maura felt pressured to stick with him,’ a source said. ‘They had booked jobs together, parties they had to attend.
‘When they met in Love Island it was genuine. But when the showbiz treadmill started on the outside, it was a sham. ’
The couple were hit by claims they’d had an explosive row at the National Television Awards in January.
Maura and Curtis had been presenting live together on the red carpet, but Maura was reportedly ‘reduced to tears’ after getting into an argument with Curtis and allegedly told fans that the dancer was ‘using her’.
The insider continued to The Sun : ‘The NTAs was the last straw. Maura has star quality and is a professional.
‘Curtis showed his true colors that night.’
Maura insisted there was ‘no bad feeling’ between herself and Curtis, while commenting in her statement regarding the split that their relationship just ’wasn’t meant to be’.
She wrote: ‘Curtis and I have made the decision to separate. We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship. ’
Maura continued: ‘There is no easy way to get through a breakup and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work, but it wasn’t meant to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.
