Megan said: ‘This will be one of my most emotional performances. I’ll have to hold it together when I’m on stage.

‘It’s been like an emotional rollercoaster so far, my body keeps it in then as soon as I come off stage I’m a wreck.

‘The song I’m performing this week is extra personal to me. It is going to be a really emotional moment for me and my family.

‘It’s a song I wrote this year about the words my grandad would say to me. My grandad was my biggest fan – he always told me I’d be a star.

‘For me to sing this song means everything. He was like my own Simon Cowell, I used to sing to him and he would pick me songs, the fact I can sing this is so lovely.

Good times: The star, 27, pictured with her mum and grandad Roy before he passed away in 2015, told MailOnline she will have to keep it together on stage for the sake of her family

‘My family will be there – they’re so proud of me and know my grandad will be looking down watching.’

Back in 2016, Megan sobbed in the Celebrity Big Brother diary room about missing out on the chance to say a proper goodbye to Roy because she was abroad filming Ex On The Beach when he passed away.

The former TOWIE star forged a bond with co-star, Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis, 26, during their time in the house.

Megan said at the time: ‘I have issues too. I spoke to Steph the other night about it. I lost my grandad, she lost her grandad at the same time.

But this weekend Megan will finally give her grandad the goodbye she always wanted, as she performs the heartfelt tribute for judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

The star, who’s competing for a chance to win a record contract with Simon, explained her music is like delving into her diary it’s so emotional.

She said: ‘My songs are all from the heart and to sing my material out to everybody and know there’s thousands of people behind the cameras watching me – it is a lot to take in.

‘With my music it is like reading my diary, I wear my heart on my sleeve.

‘This is me getting my story across and I’ve never had that chance through the other shows whereas now I can say everything I want to say through my music.’
