EXCLUSIVE ‘I’m over that life, it’s boring’: Megan McKenna says she feels ‘liberated’ after ditching alcohol, lip fillers and hair extensions

Megan McKenna feels ‘liberated’ after breaking free from her lip fillers, big Essex hair and the pressures of being on a reality TV show.
The formerTOWIEstar, 27, says she’s ‘finally comfortable’ in herself after dramatically overhauling her image in a bid to be taken seriously as a singer.
After swapping boozing and late nights for vitamins and herbal teas, Megan told MailOnline in an exclusive interview: ‘I’ve done all the partying. I want more! ‘

The X Factor: Celebrity contender, said: ‘I feel liberated, 100 per cent. I finally feel comfortable in myself. I’m so over that life! It’s boring.
‘This girl that everyone is seeing has always been me. I’ve just never had the chance to break free and show that side of me because I’ve been on TV shows that are a lot of pressure and drama.
‘ I have stripped back with loads of things, my hair, my make-up, my lips, right down to my clothes. I feel less is more.
‘I know I dress up for stage but that’s a different story, if you see me in my day to day clothes, I am on a much different vibe to what I used to be.

‘My lifestyle has completely changed too. I’m taking loads of vitamins, drinking herbal teas, I steam every single day. I constantly steam. I have to, it is a really good way to keep your vocal chords healthy. ‘
Megan has spoken openly about having the filler in her lips dissolved – but her commitment to reaching the final stages of the X Factor: Celebrity goes further than her appearance.
She added: ‘For ages now I have cut out alcohol. I’ve cut out drinking this year.
‘I have the odd drink to celebrate every now and again but I haven’t had a drink for maybe two months now.
‘I don’t go out partying at all. The show is so intense, you have to look after yourself. I feel really healthy, it just makes me feel a lot stronger and better in myself. ‘

She became known for her temper tantrums and toxic romances following her time on shows likeEx on the Beach, Celebrity Big Brother and TOWIE.
But Megan insisted now aged 27 she’s matured and her only focus is to win a recording contract with music mogul Simon Cowell, 60.
She said: ‘I have grown up on TV. I have grown up a lot over the years and now I can laugh about the silly mistakes I made on TV.
‘I feel because I haven’t been taken seriously for a long time now because of the other reality shows I’ve done – all I can think is this is my chance now for somebody to see me and for me to have that break.
‘I really, really need that break. It would mean everything to me. ‘
