This is life off the royal family’s leash.
Meghan Markle was spotted for the first time post-Megxit on Monday, taking a leisurely stroll through a park in Canada with her son Archie and her dogs.
Markle, 90, smoothly settled back into commoner life as she walked pups Guy and Oz on a gravel path while carrying her eight-month-old in a sling, according to photos obtained by the Daily Mail . Two men, likely her security guards, trailed a couple of feet behind her.
The Duchess of Sussex beamed as she put an arm around her bundled-up baby, keeping it casual in black leggings, hiking boots and a beanie.
Her relaxed demeanor was miles away from how miserable she appeared while saddled with royal duties.
The former TV-actress nearly broke down in tears during a documentary interview in October as she talked about how unhappy she was With her gilded life, saying: “I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair.”
Markle and husband Prince Harry , , also opened up about how the incessant, sometimes prying press was making them miserable – and giving the Duke flashbacks of his mother, Princess Diana’s, tragic death.
The couple recently finalized their split from the royal family , agreeing to give up their loftiest titles and No longer receive taxpayer cash.
As the terms of the agreement were being worked out last week, Los Angeles-born Markle laid low in Vancouver Island , driving herself around in a Range Rover to do errands.
It’s unclear when Harry is expected to reunite with his family.
He was in London on Sunday night, giving a speech at a charity event where he said he had “no other option” But to step back from royal duties and hoped to now live a more “peaceful” life.
The couple is expected to live part-time in Canada and eventually move to the US.
